Our Story
Having worked in the care sector since 2003, I have seen first-hand just how emotional, overwhelming and uncertain the search for care can be for individuals and their families. No matter how many families I supported, I never became accustomed to witnessing the worry, confusion and anxiety they often faced during such an important time in their lives.
It became clear to me that there was a real need for free, compassionate, independent support — someone who could guide families through the entire process, provide reassurance and help make what can feel like an overwhelming and daunting journey far less stressful.
With that in mind, I founded How to Find a Care Home in 2014 with a simple mission: to be the trusted person families can turn to when they need guidance, support and expert advice. From the very first conversation through to finding the right care solution, we are there every step of the way.
We never forget that the person requiring care is someone’s mother, father, grandparent, partner or lifelong friend
I firmly believe that clear communication, honesty and realistic expectations are the foundations of achieving the best outcomes. We always listen first. Every person is unique, and every family’s circumstances are different. By taking the time to understand what matters most, we work closely with families and friends to find the right solution for their loved one.
Their need for support should never diminish their dignity, independence or the importance of family relationships. We believe families should remain as involved and connected as they have always been, and we strive to find care environments where those relationships can continue to flourish.
As we grow older, many of us want to be closer to our children and family. In today’s world, loved ones are often spread across different parts of the country. We specialise in finding care throughout the UK and regularly help families relocate loved ones closer to where they can receive support and spend valuable time together. Wherever care is needed, we work tirelessly to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Our service is completely free to families. Searching for care is not something most people have experience with, which can leave them vulnerable at a time when important decisions need to be made quickly. Our role is to ensure families have the right information, guidance and support they need to make confident, informed choices without feeling pressured or overwhelmed.
We genuinely care about every person who comes to us for help. We never become desensitised to the concerns, fears and emotions involved in choosing care. Every client is treated with compassion, respect and understanding, and we take the time to explain all available options and help families plan ahead — considering not only current care needs but also future changes in health, circumstances and finances. Our goal is to help people find a long-term home that continues to meet their needs for years to come.
Since 2014, we have successfully supported thousands of people across the UK. We are incredibly proud of the many letters, emails, reviews and messages of thanks we have received from families who felt supported during what was often one of the most challenging periods of their lives. Their kind words continue to inspire us and reinforce why we do what we do: helping families spend quality time together, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving the care they deserve in an environment where they can thrive.
If you’re looking for real people with genuine expertise — people who understand your concerns, appreciate your priorities and can confidently guide you through the often complex care system — we would be delighted to help. When you contact How to Find a Care Home, you’re not just receiving a service; you’re becoming part of our family.
